Confession Time 🙈 so for a long time, I didn’t own a maxi skirt and I refused to make one either because I thought I wasn’t going to look good in it. However, I always love it on people, so finally last year I decided to “do it afraid” 😆😆 and I made one for myself and oh boy!!! I am glad I took that bold step, whenever I wear this skirt, I always get a compliment and it has since become one of my must have wardrobe staple.
When I finally decided to give it a go, I knew for me to love and be motivated to wear it, I had to use a fabric I Love and cannot just afford to watch it sit idle in my wardrobe.
The next thing for me was, I had to like the style, and that was simple to figure out; it had to be easy to wear, chic and must effortlessly turn heads #vainnature 😆😆 (And trust me when I say it sure turns head at least it turns the head of my hubby 😆😆 😆😆)
Once I was clear about what I wanted, I went straight to work and in less than 45minutes “Oge” was added to the ShapesandColors family 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 and was launched the next day to church 😆😆 😆 #notimetowaste
Accessorizing plays a very important role in styling an outfit, I knew I was going for a white top, however once I put it together it looked really plain, so I jazzed it up with a brooch as I was going for a sophisticated look which also influenced my choice of bag and shoes.
Top: C&A | Skirt: Shapes&Colors | Shoes: Guess| Bag: Zara | Watch: Fossil | Shades: Dapmod
In all, I loved how it all came together beautifully… I later switched to my sneakers 🙈🙈 (I am sure you can tell by now, that I can wear sneakers with Iro and Buba 😆😆) And my Dapmod Sunnies came out to play 😉
