See ehn, sometimes when things don’t work out the way we expect them to, just stay thankful. Because more often than not, it’s for our good. That’s exactly the case with this my Italy trip.
I was in the middle of a project; My first fashion collection for the African Fashion Show in Geneva, and I couldn’t access my bank account because there was a restriction on it due to CBN’s (Central Bank of Nigeria) BVN (Bank Verification Number) Registration.
One of the Pieces from the collection ( Wore on of the tops from the collection in this post).
I tried all I could, called everyone I knew at GTBank Nigeria but “NO SHOW”. Eventually I gave up and called GTBank London,to see if I can get it done but, they directed me to Paris centre, where I was told they were undergoing some renovations, and so all roads led to Italy.
Booked an appointment for Monday February 15th, and decided to make it a weekend trip. If we (hubby and I) are going to Italy for BVN we may as well explore the city. And I am glad we did. The BVN centre is in Rome, which is the capital of Italy. In order to cut cost, we booked an AirBnB, as I suggested in my post; 5 Tips to Reduce Your Travel Expense (You see I practice what I teach😆😆)
We got to Rome, pretty early (It was part of the plan though, so we could make the best use of our time). Our flight was for 6am and by 8am-ish we were in Rome. The journey was about 1 hour 25 minutes from Geneva. Once we settled in, we headed out immediately for sightseeing and you can already guess where our first stop was; The Colosseum; One of the new Seven Wonders of the World
See ehn, I personally don’t think any Picture can do the colosseum justices, It’s just too magnifique…
The View of the Roman Forum
The Palatine Hill
Trevi Fountain It’s one of the most famous fountain in the world. And if you are a Fashion lover like me, you already know this was where FENDI staged one of its most breathtaking shows ever in celebration of her 90th Anniversary.
A former Roman temple, now a church, in Rome; The Pantheon is the best preserved building from ancient Rome.

The view of the Piazza del Popolo
Though the plan was to maximize all the time we had, we couldn’t see all the places we had planned to. I was super tired at this point and just needed to retire for the day. Biko Rome wasn’t built in a day, and so it definitely takes more than a day to see it.
Recommendation : If you can, take the tour of the Colosseum, I hear it’s amazing, we couldn’t because the queue for tickets was too long.
It’s day two of our trip, we were off to the Vatican City; home to the Pope the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church. The Vatican City is the smallest country in the world, encircled by a 2-mile border with Italy. Our first stop was the official residence of the Pope; The Apostolic Palace also known as the Papal Palace.

St. Peter’s Basilica
This is the amazing spiral staircase in the Vatican museum
Side View of The Mausoleum of Hadrian, popularly known as Castel Sant’Angelo
Awon Photobomber of life that won’t let my picture be great😆😆😆
Recommendations: This one is not if you can, Please take the tour of St. Peter’s Basilica. If you can take the Tour of Castel Sant’Angelo as well, the view at the top is awesome.
Day Three was Valentine’s Day, and Hubby had a surprise up his sleeves. He wouldn’t tell me where we were off to, He was just very particular about timing, so we don’t miss our Train. I couldn’t contain my joy, when I found out we were off to FLORENCE 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
With Florence it was love at first sight. My husband and I fell in love with the city from the moment we stepped off the train. There was just something about Florence I can’t explain it.

Your Florence experience isn’t complete without having a bistecca alla fiorentina… Gosh it was so good! I know right I love good food 😆😆
Recommendation: Don’t leave Florence without having Fiorentina Steak.
Day Four was pretty much chilled, our BVN Appointment was in the morning and afterwards we viewed the city one more time and retired early so we could be ready for our flight the next day…

That’s it guys, I hope you enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed going on this trip. Let me know what you think in the comments section. And which Italian city you would love to visit.
